I`M IN THE GARDEN

Thank you so much for your lovely comments!
Every single one of them... is so precious to me!
I can`t believe that`s been over one week since my last post!
Apparently the Summer fair was lots of fun.
Unfortunately I couldn`t go as I was waiting for my lovely auction treasures to be delivered.
Remember the lovely Cadbury`s chocolate wooden box?
Anyway, in this post I would like to show you my small back garden.
A few weeks ago my dear mum gave us some conservatory roof panels
that she had going spare...
And lucky us, they are the perfect size for our pergola.
So now, we can enjoy our garden even when its raining!
...
Yep! The vintage mirror and garden bench have been given a new look!

BEFORE...
NOW...
(Sorry! No before photos of the mirror.)
Something else that had a small make-over was this vintage birdcage.
Simple vintage netting and some faux hydrangeas, that I had around the house that`s all it took.
A 5 minute project...
The end result.
I think it looks quite effective!
Since our garden is so small...
I think that its important to add interesting pieces to catch the eye.
Such as mirrors.
Which of course, reflects the light and enables you to see the garden in different angles.
Which otherwise would be unnoticed!
Oops! I just noticed my sandals...
...
An Edwardian oval mirror...
This one we bought a few years ago.
It was just a frame and I had the idea of adding a mirror to it...
It is still waiting to get painted!
Another mirror that I have and love is the one below.
I think this one its very appropriate,
since its of a Crinoline lady,
who`s wondering in a pretty garden.
Have you noticed the trees reflection, on the photo below?
This next photo I had just finished watering my plants.
So the mirror got wet!
And I love how the trees reflection, look as if they are part of the original design.
If that makes sense?:)
And here is how it looks once dried and seen from a different angle...
Another feature that I love...
Is vintage ironware.
And here you can see the recent French scrolls that I`ve got from my "local" salvage yard.
And the pale pink roses peeping through...
My pretty coloured petunias are nearly filling the wooden box...
Which has also received a new Farrow & Ball fresh coat of paint.
The next inexpensive feature,
Is one that you probably have as well...
Pretty plates...
... hidden in between plants.
This one has a multitude of sins...
That now no one can see.
A rose vintage saucer is playing hide and seek amongst ...
...my lavender.
Which is yet to flower!
...
Now let`s go to our front garden...
What is my dear hubby doing?
Have you guessed?
You are right!
He is replacing our iron archway, with a more country style one!
So goodbye iron archway...
And welcome the solid wooden one.
Which I have already painted.
But I`m yet to take photos to show you!
We are chuffed to bits with it!
And have you noticed what Alan is doing in the background?
We now have a lovely brand new bird table/planter.
Which I won on my local auction, this past Tuesday!
Not bad for £25.00
(The photo below was taken at about 9.00 pm.)
We were still busy! Hence being dark.
I will show you the finished photos in my next post!
...
But now, I want to show you some of my garden wonderful blessings...
I never had begonias before....
But they are soon becoming, one of my favourites.
Specially, when they are double flower like these ones.
The flower below, is a recent purchase.
From the David Austin wonderful collection!
Before I leave you, there`s two more photos that I want to share with you.
...
The first one is of my little ones and their school peers,
on their annual sports day, last Friday.
And this one is of my new SUPER CUTE neighbours...
I wish all my neighbours were as friendly as these ones!:)
I will say no more!

TODAY I`M DREAMING OF...
CAN`T WAIT FOR THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS TO START...
AS ITS GETTING MORE DIFFICULT TO GET THE LITTLE ONES...
AND THE BIG ONES (MUMMY & DADDY)
OUT OF BED, IN THE MORNINGS!:-)
