VINTAGE VELVET CUSHIONS + TAPESTRIES + AUCTION BUYS

Sorry! Another post! Lol
At the moment, I`m having some trouble replying to your sweet comments...
Hubby says its to do with my Blogger's server... So I decided to write this post, instead.
I want to show you these beautiful vintage velvet cushions, that I bought from a local charity shop.
(This past Saturday.)
For only...
Each!
I added new inners... as I like my cushions to be well stuffed.
And decided to hand stitch these beautiful doilies...
Don`t they look pretty?
(Amongst my tapestry cushion.)
And the photo below is how this corner of my living room is now looking...
With my new cushions!
Sadly I didn`t have any more of the same doilies to add to the other cushions...
So instead I soaked some vintage doilies that I had, in boiling water and soda crystal for a few hours...
As I really wanted them to be white.
Sadly, they didn`t turn out as white as I wanted them to be...
So, reluctantly I added some weak bleach to them...
Here is how they are looking... On my velvet cushions!
I also have been busy finishing a vintage tapestry that I won on Ebay a while ago...
Isn`t the box... Beautiful?
Here is the finished result!
Ready to go to my tapestry wall!
Another vintage tapestry that I was lucky to win... was the one below!
Again, not completed! Although this one, come without any wool for me to finished it!
So sweet hubby volunteered to go to Hobby Craft that happens to be 25 minutes drive from us...
So we could try to match the missing wool.
Sadly there was only a close match...
And after spending one day doing it... I noticed that it just wasn`t looking right!
I panicked for a bit... Money and time... WASTED!!!
Day after... I came across a frame, which had a pretty picture in it...
But it just had to be!
I decided to get rid of the picture and use the frame for the tapestry.
And on the photo below... You can see how nice it now looks, regardless!
I`m over the moon, how my tapestry wall is looking!
And there`s only one tapestry missing...
And then my tapestry wall will be finished and I will be able to share photos with you all!
So please... Do bear with me!:-)
...
By the way... What do you think of  this bright vintage jug?
I saw it on my local auction website and thought I just had to have it!
I did pay £10.00 for it...
But I love it so much!
Something else that caught my attention on the auction....
Was these vintage shelves!
Again... Sadly not quite a bargain! At £20.00 plus commission!
The seller had a reserve price!
Although they are the perfect size for my bathroom...
And I have been looking for a similar one for ages!
That`s my excuse, anyway!Lol
I already painted it...
And when hubby will have a minute spare, he will hang it on my wall...
And I can`t wait to add pretty treasures to it!
(Hopefully, I will be able to show it to you soon, too.)
I think that`s it... I will try again, tomorrow... to leave you comments!
Which I always LOVE to do! I`m just hoping that the server will be working!

TODAY I`M DREAMING OFF...
THAT`S EASY!
SERVER... PLEASE GET BACK TO WORK!LOL

A LOVELY WEEKEND WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

(Clematis from my garden.)
Hi, everyone!
Thanks for all your sweet comments, regarding my living room make-over!
As I said on my previous post... I had a busy, but very enjoyable weekend!
PARTYING!
...
On Saturday evening the "Mosses" went to see Jodie-Lee dance...
She also received 4 dancing trophies along with ribbons...
And a special medal for wonderful dedication to dancing!
...
(J.L and her lovely dancing teacher on the photo below...)
And on Sunday... It was my mum and her husband 8th wedding anniversary!
(These pretty flowers... Are from their garden.)
As a gift... I surprised them by ordering a cake to celebrate the happy occasion...
I wanted the cake to be simple...
So I could do this...
I had great fun decorating it...
With this pair of vintage bone china ducklings...

I also made this card for them!
For Bill (my mums husband) we offered an hydrangea plant!
(He loves gardening!)
And for my lovely mum... I made, what I think it was a pretty gift!:-)

And I enjoyed wrapping it...
After all... Its the little details...
My younger brother... Gave them this card!:-)
Which we thought it was very appropriate!
And got us all in stitches!
And this beautiful orchid!
And we can`t have a party without yummy food...
Below... are just a few, of the Portuguese food!
...
(Pasteis de nata.)
 (Bolo de bolacha.)
(Pudim.)
(Bacalhau a bras.) = Dried cod with cream.
There were about 14 of us... And we all had great FUN!
I must say to Bill a BIG THANK YOU...
For being a great supportive friend to us and a caring husband for my mum...
As she so deserves!

TODAY I`M DREAMING OFF...
THAT MY MUM AND BILL WILL HAVE MANY MORE HAPPY YEARS TOGETHER!

VINTAGE CHANDELIERS IN MY LIVING ROOM

Thank you so much for your sweet comments regarding my living room!
As I was in such a rush to finish writing my last post...
I never got to show you how my living room looks at night time when my two vintage chandeliers...
That are at each side of my fire surround look like when lite!
What do you think!
I personally love it!
A lot!
I think it makes a lovely feature in this room!
I can`t wait for wintry cold nights...
When the fire will be on...
And all the "Mosses" will be under cozy blankets...
Watching a lovely Sunday afternoon movie!
Thanks hubby for rewiring these vintage chandeliers for me!
...
By the way, as I previous mentioned on my last post...
I wasn`t very happy with how dark my photos looked.
So yesterday while the sun was shinning, I took more photos of my living room!
And here is the result!
I`m so glad that we didn`t had to re-decorate this room from scratch... to achieve a different look!
And it proves that there`s no need to spend a lot of money to achieve what in my opinion...
Is a beautiful living room!
All I needed to do was to paint, out dated furniture and a few accessories white...
And moving a few things around...
I hope I  have inspired you... Somehow!:-)

TODAY I`M DREAMING OFF...
WELL IT LOOKS LIKE WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A BUSY WEEKEND AHEAD...
SO I`M HOPING THAT ALL WILL GO TO PLAN!
(More about it , on my next post!)
