SCHOOL IS OVER + HANDMADE TEACHERS PRESIES

Yuppie! Yuppie! Let the Summer holiday`s start!
Although with the wet weather that we are having...
it is so easy to forget that it is actually Summer!
...
My 3 munchkins have finished school yesterday!
And all week they brought home bags full of school work that they have done through the year.
(Photos below are some of my favourites, from Daniel and Jodie-Lee.)
J.L also received an Award for being the best student in her class.
(Sadly this year, it seems that the school doesn`t have enough funds
to engrave the children names on their awards.)
So grandma offered to pay for it!
And she also got an award for 100% attendance!
She`s been getting one of these, every year for the past three years...
So it is a great accomplishment itself!
She`s already said... that she will be sad for not going to school for the next 5 weeks!
She definitely didn`t get that from me... as I can remember so well...
I hated going to school!;)
...
Our Nikki also got a good school report...Although one of her teachers pointed out,
that she must wear her tie accordingly... Always!
It seems that it is the fashion to tie it to make it shorter?
Anyway, that can easily be sorted!
...
Although our Dani boy... he is a different case all together!
He must pay more attention and work harder! His teacher also said that he has great potential...
he just has to put more effort into his work!
(I suppose, me and Alan will have to help him with that...)
...
It will be Dani`s Birthday in August, so to celebrate I decided to make some fairy cakes for him
to share with his school mates, on the last day of school.
I`ve tried these new fairy cakes mix bottles thinking that it would facilitate
making over 35 fairy cakes...
But in fact it was quite a stressful affair!
Especially since the batter got stuck in the bottom,
and then when I`ve managed to set it loose, it was lumpy!
So in the end I got my mixer machine to mix it for me.
And the taste was okay! But putting it politely...
I won`t buy these shake fairy cake mix ever again!
Hence... not having any patience left to decorate them with icing!
At the end of school every year, we like to reward our children with a little something...
Normally we would take them to Toy`s R`Us...
But this year we decided to buy something for their bedrooms instead!
Which I think they will appreciated it much better, maybe not now, but in the near future...
than having more toys or more games...
So for Jodie-Lee we gave her this lovely vintage trio of porcelain butterflies.
(Which I got at my local auction for £8.00)
It will go nicely in her bedroom walls...
And this beautiful hand painted mini dressing table, which comes complete with swivel mirror...
And it is a very useful jewellery box too!
Beautiful + Useful= Perfect
Not bad for only £9.99 at my local charity shop!
She`s already been busy, storing her jewellery...
Like mother like daughter!
A girl can never have too many accessories!:-)
...
For our Nichole... we were very lucky and won with a bid of £60.00...
...a lovely Victorian iron bed frame.
This past Tuesday... at the auction!
I always wanted one of these beds!
Oops! I forgot that it isn`t for ME!...
...
I`m still on the look out for what to give to Daniel!
But I`m thinking, maybe a mirror or a new rug or maybe some shelves?
...
I`m leaving you with some photos of what Dani & J.L
gave to their teachers and teacher assistant...
For their THANK YOU GIFTS!
Which they are well deserved for doing such a brilliant job,
teaching and always being there for my little ones!
I had great fun making the lavender hearts and putting these sets together!

TODAY I`M DREAMING OFF...
THAT MY CHILDREN WILL HAVE AS GOOD TEACHERS,
AS THEY HAD THIS PAST YEAR!

AND THE WINNER IS... TRIP TO FRANCE ???

Hi, everyone!I hope that this post finds you all well!
First of all I would like to thank you for your lovely comments
regarding our tea party...

The pleasure was all ours!
And we are so delighted that you had fun with us!
So I made this mosaic with pretty flowers from my garden,
just for you!

So here it goes... and the winner of my first give-away is:

Congratulations to: topchelseagirl
(I have used a random name selector to pick the winner`s name.)

To all my other lovely friends who entered...
I`m hoping to host more give-aways in the future!
I wish I could spoil you all!
Because that`s what friends are for... to get SPOILED!
...
Now moving on to my lovely trip to Paris???
Here are some beautiful photos for you to enjoy...
... You didn`t really think I went to beautiful Paris did you!
Although it is another dream of mine to one day go to France...
at this moment in time...
my little budget won`t stretch that far...:-)
So instead, we spent a lovely Saturday evening in Preston,
which happens to be only about 30 minutes drive from our home.
We have been here many times before, but only now we noticed the beautiful buildings,
its architecture and the outstanding attention to detail...
... So much so, that`s its so easy for me to day dream and think that I was somewhere in Paris!
So please excuse my cheeky joke?:-)
We only got to notice these charming details in these buildings,
because the town was very quiet.
Otherwise, we would just walk past it, as we`ve done so many times, without noticing it`s amazing splendour.
... Romeo Romeo where for art thou Romeo
The building below, could very well been used in the Romeo & Juliette play...
I`m quite astonish to learn that this building is Preston`s library and is also a free entrance museum.
And what`s better still, is that at the moment they are having a textile display...
(so a date its already been set on my diary) to come and visit!
So I urge you, for you to go for a lovely evening Summer stroll...
with your camera on hand and take photos,
of your town, village or even drive to the beautiful country side and to
capture beautiful photos of it.
I for once, am planning to do the same in Chorley... my hometown.
It isn`t really the countryside that I dream of living one day...
but still is very nice nonetheless!
And I`m sure there will be some lovely surprises that I`m looking forward to find!
...
Although is lovely to go for a walk... it`s just as nice going for a family meal!
(The photo below of my coat and vintage bag should give you a clue where we went.)
So we adventure to Preston`s Eat as much as you Want Chinese restaurant.
We`ve never been before, so we were all very excited!
Even though, my girls faces don`t quite show it!:-)
And the food didn`t disappointed either! I`ve managed to have two yummy plates full.
And then some lovely dessert!
The food was divine, but I also found the service outstanding!
The staff was all Chinese, and they sure know how to make you feel welcome ...
They all had a big genuine smile in their faces...
... When they came to take our plates away...,
Or even when we had to ask for another fork, after our Nichole dropped hers...:-)
And after our first round of drinks... to save £££££ we asked for jugs of water instead,
and they were more than happy to oblige!
Not once, but twice!
So a BIG THANK YOU goes for the STAFF to make our night a lovely night to remember!!!
My 19 year old brother and Nichole`s best friend also came along with us...
...
And thanks honey!
For spoiling us all, once again!
Until next time...

TODAY I`M DREAMING OF...

THAT THE LOVELY CHINESE STAFF...
GETS THE RIGHT TREATMENT AND RESPECT THAT THEY SO DESERVE!
WHILE AT WORK! AND OUT OF WORK, TOO!
...OF COURSE!
